Organizing A Fashion Show For Tots
So you want to have a mini me fashion show for tots and toddlers filled with little cute smiles and dimples wherever your eyes turn.
It's true every one loves children and toddlers are no exception. We love it even more when we get them all dressed up. What the public does not see is what goes on in the background. The amount of preperation involved in setting up and organizing a tots fashion show.
The key to a successful show is a strong team of assistants who are fully aware of their tasks and how to accomplish it. During a fashion show, everything must run like clockwork trying to not skip a beat and keep the runway clear for the next model tot to walk down the runway.
Unlike with a regular fashion show you can imagine there would also be other elements to consider. For example the last thing you want is hyper toddlers right before the show, so having a snack stand with cookies and pop may not be the best idea.
Here are 4 tips to assist in the success of your upcoming Tot Fashion Show.
1.Develop your Team and designate specific tasks. One role that is not normally needed in a regular adult fashion show is the "guiders". A guider is the person who walks the outside of the catwalk without obstructing the viewers enjoyment of the show ensuring the tots continue on their way to the end and then back behind the curtains. This will be your most crucial area of control for the actual day of the show.
2. Promote your event at least a month to two months in advance to ensure that you have plenty of time to get your name out there and sell plenty of tickets. Also remember to advertise on various community boards both locally and online.
3. Prepare and practice your speech for every piece every night before bed in front of the mirror for the final week prior to your show to ensure you have your linguistic capabilities at its top performance on the big day.
4. Ensure you have all supplies on hand and setup at least 24hrs prior to performance. Preferably if possible 48hrs to avoid any possible issues that may arise. Remember that you are going to want a fairly wide ramp/catwalk, a spacious sitting area to enjoy the show and the surrounding elements of the location decorated in your Shows Theme.

How to be ready for a photo shoot
Photo shoot preparation is crucial to a quality end result in your developed photos. Here are few things we would like to share with you to make your next photo shoot a successful one:
- Ensure that you will have all the equipment and photo props you will possibly need and ensure that you are prepared for any variable that may come your way.
- Create a simple checklist of the various items that you will surely need and a few in case items and the night before the shoot run through your check list ensuring you have everything ready.
- Send a reminder to all those taking part in your photo shoot before hand.
- Once the day of the big photo shoot arrives, it is time to pull out your checklist once more and ensure that you have packed and brought everything on that list.
- Having the right equipment as well as attire for the photo shoot on hand is the most important thing when preparing for your photo shoot.
- For photo shoots with children or babies, ensure they have taken a good nap before the preset time and that they are well fed
- Ensure you all are well groomed and looking your best on that day.
- Stick to a healthy diet, drink enough water and get plenty of rest.
- Many younger children will resist having anything on their head such as a headband or a hat. Distract them while placing the photo prop on their head.
- For mommies, many photographers state that you should have colourless nail polish or french tips unless you are trying to create a specific colour theme in your photo shoot.
- Finally for that lush lipstick colouring simply try this little trick:
- Take a soft tip toothbruch and softly brush your lips to exfoliate them prior to going to bed nightly.
- Once you have brushed your lips simply apply a bit of vasoline to them that night and again in the morning.
